Communication with Extra Terrestrial life forms may be the most important challenge to mankind. Whether they're here now, are coming soon, or we meet them "out there, in space", we will need to communicate with them!
In the Earth's oceans, light and color are the most common form of communication. Have we forgotten the "language" of color and light?
.....And how do you talk to an Angel? If the Virgin Mary shows up on your bedroom wall some night, what will you say to her? (...or do you just "think loudly"?)
Physically and Metaphysically, we send messages, and, if we can figure out the replies, we've communicated.
